How we work

We groom one pet at a time. That sounds like a small thing and it changes everything — no queue building up behind your dog, no rushing to finish, and the person grooming them gives them the whole appointment rather than a share of it.

It's why we tend to do well with the pets other salons find difficult. Nervous dogs, older dogs, rescues, and anyone who has had a bad experience somewhere busier. Tell us when you book and we'll allow the extra time rather than trying to make it up later.

You get a photo and a report after every appointment, so you know how they actually got on instead of guessing from their mood in the car.

Cats, properly

Most salons are built around dogs, and a cat brought into that is stressed before anyone touches them. We groom cats on Thursday afternoons, once the dog appointments have finished for the day. No dogs being groomed at the same time, either way.

That includes a full groom with dry shampoo for cats who genuinely will not tolerate being wet — which is a good many of them. More on cat grooming.

Honest about what's achievable

We would rather tell you something you don't want to hear than take your money and disappoint you. If a coat is matted close to the skin, dematting it means hours of pulling on the skin and that is not fair on the dog — a short clip and a fresh start is the kinder answer, and we will say so before we begin rather than after.

Same with teeth. Our ultrasonic cleaning is maintenance, not veterinary dentistry. If your dog needs a vet dental we will tell you, and we would rather you spent the money there.

Kelsey

Salon Leader

Kelsey has been with the salon since day 1. As a qualified Level 3 Dog Groomer, she heads up the team and ensures the day-to-day runs smoothly. We're pleased to have Kelsey on our team, and she is a customer favourite for sure.

Paige

Dog Groomer

Level 3 Qualified Paige has become a customer favourite in her relatively short tenure with The Lincoln Dog Groomer. A naturally hard worker, she helps manage the team in the absence of Kelsey.

Emily

Senior Dog Groomer

With a whopping 15 years experience, Emily is a well known local legend when it comes to dog grooming. She brings a wealth of experience, working with dogs small to large, happy to anxious, and she's got skills, too!

Katie

Apprentice Dog Groomer

Katie initially joined us as a Dog Grooming Assistant and quickly took to the role. Before long, she was getting involved in many aspects of the grooming process and has continued to build her skills and confidence within the salon. Katie works closely with our experienced groomers, with her work checked and supported by the senior team as she continues to develop. We’re thrilled to have Katie as part of the team.

Hannah

Dog Groomer

Joining us as a Level 3 qualified Dog Groomer, achieving a Distinction, Hannah brings a great combination of skill, patience and genuine love for dogs to the salon. She takes real pride in her grooming and in making sure every dog in her care feels comfortable and well looked after. Outside of work, Hannah loves spending time with her new puppy — so it’s safe to say dogs are a pretty big part of her life both in and out of the salon!

Finding us

We're at 5 Rookery Lane, Lincoln, Lincolnshire, LN6 7PX, with free parking. Open Monday to Friday 9am–5pm and Saturday 9am–1pm for dogs, with cat appointments on Thursday afternoons.

Being in Lincoln puts us within easy reach of North Hykeham, Bracebridge Heath, Skellingthorpe, Waddington, Branston and Saxilby.
